New York based composer Douglas J. Cuomo (composer for, among other things, Sex and the City as well as the chamber opera The Bhagavad Gita) and I are collaborating on an chamber opera/new music piece based on the life of the 16th century Spanish saint Teresa of Avila. This project stems out of the screenplay I was commissioned by two independent producers in Boston to write on her life and also out of Doug’s work and interest in the intersection of music and religion.
